Why is Optical Prescription Lab on my receipt?
Hunters HD Gold, Hunters HD Ruby and AktiveBlu are all lenses of Optical Prescription Lab (OPL). OPL was started in 1977 by Brian’s mother in law where he stated working as the Marketing Director and created a personal lens in 2015 that we now know today as Hunters HD Gold. OPL makes lenses for Optometrist and Ophthalmologist throughout the Southeast and US daily. If it can be done to an optical lens then, OPL is your wholesale source for lenses.
I have emailed you with no response, how can I get in touch with you?
One, check your junk folder, we respond to EVERY email within 12 hours. If you put the wrong email or misspelled email on the contact form then, we don’t have a way to contact you. If you still have found no email, call the lab directly at 205-620-2321 and they can help you. We try to call everyone who contacts us within the next business day to follow up you got the email.
What is the best prescription for shooting?
This is a conversation you need to have with your Eye Doctor. He can write the prescription for your optics, target focused or both. If you are having an issues finding a doctor that knows a lot about shooting check out our Friendly Doctors that other shooters have recommended.
Do you accept insurance?
To take insurance directly you have to be owned by a Doctor in the State of Alabama. The owner of Optical Prescription Lab is not a doctor, no matter what she tells you. :). You can however file Out of Network with your Insurance Provider. Optical Prescription Lab (OPL) has been in business since 1977 and Insurance Companies know who we are.
Can you make my regular clear lenses?
Yes we can make anything you want. i.e. Clear, Polarized, Colors. We are a lens manufacturer, call the lab and ask for pricing.
Can you take HSA / FSA for payment?
Yes, just call the lab directly at 205-620-2321 to process your order for prescription or non prescription orders.
Can you make them in prescription?
Yes, the prescription is the easiest part. We have been making prescription lenses since 1977. Just fill out the form on the Website Rx / Custom Order and further instructions will be sent to you.
What is the lead time for Prescription Glasses?
It usually takes 2-3 days once we have your prescription and frame marked.
Do I need a copy of my prescription?
Not necessarily, you can send in your current glasses and we can read the prescription off of them. We always recommend getting your eyes checked regularly based on so much of your heath can be identified with a compressive eye exam.
Can you put a bifocal on top?
Yes, we can put the bifocal anywhere you may want it. Sometime it will be with a line bifocal and sometimes with a digital round bifocal. Talk to the lab for details.
Can I use my own frame for your lenses?
Yes as long as the frame has two lenses. Fill out the form on the Hunters HD Gold Website: Rx / Custom Order for further instructions.
Can you make lenses for my single face shields?
No, unfortunately not, we can only make lenses for your frame if it has two separate lenses.
What is the turn around time for Hunters HD Gold Custom?
It usually takes 2-3 days once we have your frames in our hands.
Why do we have to send our frames in for Hunters HD Gold Custom?
If the lenses we make are < / > 1mm your lenses will not fit correctly. It’s truly lenses custom fit for your frame. We have found out that some manufactures will have differences in the frame on the exact same model.
What are the uses for on each lens color?
Hunters HD Gold is designed for Hunting and Shooting Sports. Hunters HD Ruby was engineered for Shotgun Sports. (Some people like Hunters HD Ruby on Bright Sunny Days ONLY with Red Dot). Hunters HD Ruby makes Green Mute/Disappear. AktiveBlu was designed for everything outside the shooting sports.
Is Hunters HD Gold lenses Polarized?
No, Hunters HD Gold is not polarized. We found that the polarization takes away from the red dot / iron sites. If you need a polarized lens, the AktiveBlu is polarized in the sun.
How long does shipping take?
We use USPS Ground Advantage. You will have a tracking number, phone number to follow your package once it ships. Based on where you are located this can take 1-4 days.
Do you ship International?
Yes, we have a plan for that as well and can take up to 3-4 weeks to get your order overseas. You will have tracking as well to follow you package when it ships.
Can I drive with my Hunters HD Gold or AktiveBlu?
Yes, driving with Hunters HD Gold and AktiveBlu help with night blindness and blocks the intense blue headlights that are on the market now. DO NOT DRIVE WITH Hunters HD Ruby, they mute / make the green lights disappear.
What is the Warranty?
Warranty - a written guarantee, issued to the purchaser of an article by its manufacturer, promising to repair or replace it if necessary within a specified period of time. At OPL and Hunters HD Gold we do business with trust and fair practice daily. We don’t feel we need the written portion of what we do with our customer service. If you have an issue then we handled it on a one on one basis. We take pride in having the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE in the industry. If we feel it needs to be done, then we do it. If we feel that we are being taken advantage of, then we address it. You will be happy with OPL / Hunters HD Gold / Hunters HD Ruby / AktiveBlu and anything you purchase from us. *Hunters HD Gold® protective safety glasses are manufactured by Optical Prescription Lab and have been tested for impact and passed to meet the ANSI Z87.1+ - 2020 High Impact requirements**.The lenses are made from impact resistant Trivex® material. Hunters HD Gold® are not unbreakable and offer only limited protection. For work hazards involving the possibility of high mass / high velocity impact, such as fragmenting grinding wheels - goggles, face shields and or machine guards should be considered. Consult with your supervisor or safety specialist to decide which type of protection is required for your work environment. Eyewear should be frequently inspected. Scratched, pitted, or crazed lenses will have reduced visibility and impact resistance, and should be replaced immediately. Tinted lenses filter out 99% of all harmful UV radiation. Tinted lenses offer protection against sun glare, BUT should not be used in welding, brazing or cutting operation or where there are dangerous levels of IR radiation. Spectacles should be worn as supplied. These spectacles do not offer protection against molten metal, chemical splash or Laser light. Hunters HD Gold® should be cleaned using ONLY soap and warm water and dried off with a dry-clean cloth. DO NOT use abrasive cleaning compounds or solvents. **Impact resistant lenses are neither shatterproof nor unbreakable. Coatings may alter the impact resistance of any lens material. Lenses that are tampered with or re-edged are not covered by warranty. Hunters HD Gold lenses are only designed for approved Hunters HD Gold frames. Hunters HD Gold keeps your information when contacted in a Sales Funnell.
