Quality Matters
Shooting glasses are like many pieces of gear we use; ignored until they hurt performance. Lenses that block too much light in dark conditions, frames that are too tight and fog on humid mornings and the classic junk plastic that obscures detail on targets for far shots are common among the new to competition crowd. I personally made all those mistakes.
I tried my first pair of Hunters HD Gold at a Nationals match. It was a nasty lighting day in Florida with rain clouds and intense sunlight coming in waves. I was tired of swapping between dark shooting glasses and clear shooting glasses. It felt like I was always playing catch up to the lighting. Hunters HD Gold made the correction for me. It was amazing. One less thing to think about during the competition gave me back not only the ability to clearly see targets and detail, it gave me back a small amount of focus. If Hunters HD Gold only solved that one single problem, I’d wear them over anything else. But they also provide so much more.
I’ve had an advantage hunting and shooting in rain, snow and all kinds of terrible lighting conditions from weather. From early first light being able to see more detail on in bucks to clearly seeing a dark black hog at the last rays of sunlight before the moon came out, Hunters HD Gold are as useful in the woods as they are on the range. For those of us that know the best duck hunts are on days with the worst weather, having Hunters HD Gold adapt between pissing rain to snow to sun reflecting off the water helps tremendously when you’re already half frozen and only 1 shot away from a limit.
Science Matters
Trivex as a lens material is unbelievable. Ask your optometrist about the “upgraded” lens material you can buy for your glasses once a year. It’s Trivex and there’s a reason they charge a premium for it over polycarbonate.
Trivex has both higher light transmission and higher durability than standard polycarbonate lenses. Shooting glasses aren’t just for seeing. They’re for protecting your eyes from anything that might come because of a small explosion feet from your face. Whether it’s bullet fragments from a piece of steel, ricochets from a rock on the berm or even oil, carbon or powder breaking free and coming back at my face, I’m going to have the best protection I can have on my eyes. Add on the enhanced light transmission and clarity and again, I’m sold on Hunters HD Gold.
Support Matters
Who do you support when you have multiple options? The guy you see at every match, supporting every shooting sport and building the community? Or the company you never see that’s rebranding the same cheap thing from bulk industrial sales.
Brian is the real deal. He’s a shooter through and through. He believes in growing the shooting sports because the stronger our community, the less likely anyone tries to take what we love. All the miles to matches, all the phone calls, all the time away from home is the support that Brian puts into the shooting sports. That’s why we’re so fiercely loyal to him and why I wear Hunters HD Gold.
